Empowering Youth through Skill Development: Dhriti Foundation’s IT Training Centers

 In an age where digital literacy is vital, AIM Foundation’s Dhriti Foundation initiative is transforming lives by setting up advanced computer training centers in both urban and rural areas.

Currently operating in Kasba (Kolkata), Rangkhila (East Bardhaman), and Abasar (Jalpaiguri), these centers aim to equip underprivileged youth with essential tech skills. The curriculum includes Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and high-impact industry tools like ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, and Erdas Imagine—software widely used in geoinformatics, environmental management, and infrastructure planning.

What makes this initiative stand out is its focus on career relevance. As sectors like urban planning, disaster management, and climate analysis expand, the demand for skilled professionals in GIS and remote sensing is rapidly increasing. By training students in these areas, the program not only builds confidence but prepares them for employment or entrepreneurship.

The centers are also fostering a learning ecosystem where young minds can grow, share, and collaborate. This isn’t just about education—it’s about unlocking potential, one student at a time.

Recently, in collaboration with Susrut Eye Foundation and Hospital, we organized a free eye check-up camp at our Hazra Centre (110B, Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata – 700029). The event was a step toward restoring not just sight, but also dignity and independence. The camp saw 56 residents from the local community receive comprehensive eye examinations.
