Free Eye Check-up at Hazra Centre: A Vision for All
AIM Foundation, in association with Susrut Eye Foundation and Hospital, recently held a free eye check-up camp at our Hazra Centre on Sarat Bose Road, Kolkata. This initiative was a part of our ongoing effort to promote community health and provide accessible medical care to the underserved.
During the event, 56 individuals underwent thorough eye examinations. Of these, 11 were diagnosed with cataracts and scheduled for free surgeries, while 24 others received spectacles, drastically improving their daily lives. These numbers are more than just statistics—they represent lives changed through timely care and intervention.
In a country where preventive eye care is often inaccessible due to cost or availability, such camps are vital. Many beneficiaries were unaware of their conditions and left the camp with improved vision and renewed hope. The sense of gratitude and joy in their eyes said it all.
Our commitment goes beyond one-time events. It’s about building healthier communities by raising awareness and ensuring that no one is left behind due to financial barriers. Initiatives like these are crucial in creating an inclusive society where healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
We are thankful to the doctors, volunteers, and all those who supported the initiative. This is how we move forward—by working together, one step, one vision, and one community at a time.
